Lightweight Brick and Plaster Grades

The constant need for energy conservation has led to improvements in the insulation characteristics of traditional building methods and materials. Hence the introduction of new building materials, such as cellular bricks, insulated lightweight plaster and lightweight concrete.

The relative importance of insulation will vary from country to country depending upon the climate, local building practices and levels of insulation specified. In many countries, expandable polystyrene (EPS) is making a valuable contribution to improving building insulation.

INEOS Styrenics EPS B beads have been specially developed to produce low density foam which is ideal for mixing with clay, plaster or concrete.

INEOS Styrenics EPS B beads are excellent at achieving low density foam without lumps or agglomeration during pre-expansion. The beads are specially formulated not to fuse together, which makes them readily mixable with clay, plaster or concrete. Additionally, the surface of pre-expanded INEOS Styrenics EPS B beads is specially modified to be very coarse, which minimizes separation from the plaster or concrete mixture and produces an overall homogenous matrix.
